KWZ Iron-Gall Inks
KWZ Iron Gall inks are handcrafted water resistant inks. It is made from iron salts and tannic acids from vegetable sources. KWZ ink comes in 60ml glass ink bottles. KWZ Ink's Iron Gall line refers to the type of ink used for writing manuscripts in medieval times, but modern ink is crafted to be fountain pen friendly. Iron Gall inks fade or even darken over time like some common inks since the iron-gall components in the ink are permanently bonded to the papers. Important: You should take the same care when using IG inks as using other water-resistant inks. It is recommended not to leave it unused for a long time so that the ink in the pen does not dry out, otherwise the pen may be difficult to clean. If IG inks are used daily, there are no special requirements. It would not be wrong to specify KWZ Iron Gall inks as 3 levels according to their colors. IG Mandarin: light Iron-Gall ink. The concentration of the iron-gall component in this color is very low and the care of the pen is no different from standard inks. IG Blue-Black: Archival grade ink. This color has very intense iron-gall components and is the most water resistant and permanent color. If you are not using it daily, we recommend that you clean your pen after use. All other IG KWZ colors (blues, greens, violets, reds or browns) are intermediate inks. Iron gall component concentration is high enough to make the writing permanent, but low enough to be extremely suitable for daily use. KWZ Ink is a small Polish handmade fountain pen ink company founded by Korad Zurawski, who holds a PhD in Chemistry. KWZ inks started with iron-gall inks as a hobby in 2012, now has more than 100 different inks! They focus on creating inks from scratch that are less common or not available elsewhere.
